Topic 1 Supplement Thoughts

 After going over some of the items in the Topic 1 Supplement and being absent from Thursday's class, here are my thoughts on some of the material. My first thought is that I took away from the interview with Martin Scorsese. with him being my favorite director's and all. I liked how he explained that film and television can serve as a form of visual literacy. That it can tell the same story using the eyes as the seeing  point as a book uses the brain as a visual imaginary. I thought that was a very interesting interview with him.

Another interesting takeaway I took away from this week's material is The Story of Film documentary. I learned so much from that film and it had me invested throughout that it made me go and look up a lot of the stuff I saw in the film. I thought it was interesting that the reason why Hollywood became the focal point of filmmaking is because a lot of companies in the east coast held patents to a lot of the filmmaking equipment so folks would go tot he west to escape and it became the literal wild wild west.
